Terms of Use

1. Use of the Service

KnotHub is a personal productivity application that allows users to create, organize, and interact with notes using AI-powered tools.

You may use the Service only if you are at least 13 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Account Registration

You may use certain features as a guest without an account. To access full features — including cloud sync, unlimited notes, and AI capabilities — you must create an account via Clerk authentication.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

KnotHub offers a free tier and a PRO subscription. The PRO subscription provides access to additional features including unlimited AI usage, cloud synchronization, RAG search, and data export.

New users receive a 30-day free trial of PRO features upon first installation.

Subscriptions are processed through Google Play and managed by RevenueCat. Subscription fees are charged to your Google Play account at confirmation of purchase and auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Google Play account settings. We do not offer refunds except as required by applicable law or Google Play policies.

4. User Content

You retain full ownership of all notes and content you create in the App ("User Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and transmit your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not sell, rent, or share your User Content with third parties, except as described in our Privacy Policy (e.g., processing by OpenAI for AI features).

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App.
• Use automated means to access or use the Service without our express permission.
• Transmit spam, malware, or any harmful content through the Service.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' data.
• Use the AI features to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.

6. AI Features

KnotHub uses OpenAI's API to power AI chat and note enhancement features. When you use these features, your note content is transmitted to OpenAI for processing.

AI-generated responses are provided for informational purposes only. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any AI-generated content. You are solely responsible for how you use AI-generated output.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by the KnotHub team and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL KNOTHUB BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request a copy of your data before termination by contacting support.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, through competent courts of jurisdiction applicable to the parties involved.
