• Account information: email address and display name provided during registration via Clerk authentication.
• User content: notes, text, tags, and other content you create within the app. This content is stored in our cloud infrastructure (Supabase) when you are a registered user.
• Payment data: subscription status and transaction identifiers processed through RevenueCat. We do not store your full payment card details — these are handled exclusively by Apple/Google and RevenueCat.
• Usage data: information about how you interact with the app, such as feature usage, errors, and performance data, collected for service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
• Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
• Sync your notes across your devices (registered users only).
• Process and manage subscription payments.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We share data with trusted third parties solely to operate the Service:

• Clerk (clerk.com) — user authentication and identity management.
• Supabase (supabase.com) — cloud database and storage for your notes and app data.
• RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — subscription and in-app purchase management.
• OpenAI (openai.com) — AI-powered features. When you use AI chat or AI generation features, your note content is sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.

Each provider operates under its own privacy policy and applicable data protection laws.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the United States and European Union regions operated by Supabase. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication tokens, and access controls.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Guest Mode

If you use KnotHub without creating an account ("Guest Mode"), your notes are stored locally on your device only. We do not collect or process personal data from guest users, except for anonymous usage metrics and IP-based rate limiting for AI features.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Upon verified request, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

8. Children's Privacy

KnotHub is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the effective date at the top of this document. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
